Methodist Children’s Home charter school students participated in the annual McLennan County Junior Livestock Show at the Extraco Events Center in Waco. Under the instruction of agricultural science teachers Steve Kruse and Kevin Gibbs, 14 youth worked hard learning to care for their animals and training for the show. Six students advanced to the Sale of Champions.
“Our students don’t get to spend every day and night with their animals like other FFA students do,” Gibbs said. “It is amazing to see our kids, who come from hard places and struggles, work hard and come out on top. Thank you to all of the staff, supporters and donors who helped our youth flourish in this event.”
