About Counseling Services
The Counseling Program is designed to support individuals and families as they pursue optimal mental health. Services are time-limited, evidence informed and voluntary. The goal is to identify individual and family strengths and build on them. Counseling services are intended to support, enhance and protect the integrity of the individual or family by providing services that:
- Collaborate with the client to identify goals and potential solutions to identified concerns.
- Improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem and healthy relationships; enhance caregiver attachment and connection; increase regulation; promote behavior change and optimal mental health.
- Provide connections to community resources.
- Provide continuum of services that increase success of the individual and/or family.
- Help improve caregiver or parenting skills.
- Enrich the individual or family environment.
Counseling Services are offered at no cost to families in Abilene, Killeen, Permian Basin and Waco MCH Family Outreach locations.
