Talking with Kat in the charter school courtyard at Methodist Children’s Home is not a simple task, but for good reason. The 16-year-old greets and hugs nearly every person who walks by. Every teacher is her “favorite teacher.”
It’s not surprising those around Ei’Terrian, or “ET,” describe his personality as infectious. His charisma and humor are noticeable within minutes of speaking with him.
Taylor’s smile and spunk bring energy to the room as she talks about her journey to Methodist Children’s Home. She has a confidence in her voice and a hopefulness in her heart – the type of personality that leads one to believe she was always a vibrant young lady with bold ideas for a bright future. But Taylor admits she did not always have such an optimistic outlook.
Dalton, 16, is the true definition of a Texas country boy. He grew up hunting, fishing and learning the lay of God’s land with his older brothers, parents and grandparents. There is plenty of space for him to do what he loves on the 500-acre MCH Boys Ranch where he lives. Dalton is a tough young man, but those closest to him agree he has a gentle soul.
Before coming to Methodist Children’s Home in 2019, Zaniya said her life was troubled and she experienced many turbulent situations. She often felt no one would listen to her when she needed help.
