MCH Academics
Preparing for the Future
Students attending the University of Texas—University Charter School on the Waco campus of Methodist Children’s Home have numerous opportunities to prepare for the future at a two-year community college, four-year university, vocational school, or the workforce.Two such opportunities for youth to learn workplace preparedness and receive actual job certifications are the Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy (GWAMA) and the Greater Waco Advanced Health Care Academy (GWAHCA).
Celebrating Homecoming and Spirit Week
Students and staff at the University of Texas—University Charter School on the Waco campus celebrated homecoming the last week of September with themed costume days, a junior/senior dance and homecoming court during the Friday night football game.

MCH Youth Receives Waco Chamber Scholarship
Nikkie, a senior who attends the University of Texas—University Charter School on the MCH Waco campus, is the first resident to receive the scholarship.
MCH Youth Receive Awards for Academics, Activities
Students attending the University of Texas—University Charter School on the campus of Methodist Children’s Home (MCH) received recognition for achievements made during the 2020-21 academic year.
MCH Students Return to School
Youth at Methodist Children’s Home spent the first six weeks of the fall semester engaged in a remote learning environment from their homes on the Waco campus and MCH Boys Ranch before resuming in-person classes at the MCH charter school in October. To prepare for the first day of on-campus school, staff at the charter school implemented COVID-19 safety measures to minimize contact between students and teachers.
