We have Bulldog Spirit! How about you?!

MCH recently hosted its first pep rally of the fall athletic season. The Hawaiian-inspired event pumped up students and staff to “wave goodbye” to the competition. Football and volleyball student-athletes, the cheer squad and drumline were recognized at the pep rally. Students and staff also enjoyed a hilarious limbo competition.

The MCH Bulldogs are nearly halfway through the football and volleyball seasons. For more information about games, visit MCH.org/Athletics. And stay tuned for this year’s fall athletics hype video!

Methodist Children’s Home is proud to partner with Heart Galleries of Texas, which works across the state to offer positive permanency for children.

Every day, more than 6,000 children in the Texas foster care system are waiting to be adopted. Heart Galleries of Texas tells children’s stories through photography – capturing their unique spirit, individuality, interests, and needs. This further helps connect children to caring families and communities.

The Heart Gallery of East Texas recently launched in Tyler, Texas. Traci Wagner, MCH vice president for programs, and her husband, Sammy, celebrated the collaborative efforts with fellow partners from The Fostering Collective and 4Kids4Families. First Lady of Texas Cecilia Abbott served as guest speaker at the event, alongside other local leaders and advocates.

MCH was recently awarded a grant from The Heart Gallery to increase post-adoption support services in Bell and McLennan Counties. (Many thanks to the Families and Foster Care Coalition for the nomination!)

“Offering hope and strengthening families is at the heart of what we do at MCH,” said Traci Wagner. “With this grant, we hope to further increase the support and advocacy for families through case management and post-adoption services in Waco and surrounding areas."

The charter school on our Waco campus recently held a fun fall-themed open house for students, families and staff. UT-UCS teachers and staff set up festive treats, fun games and activities in classrooms and the cafeteria. Students enjoyed introducing their staff and families to their teachers and shared more about what they have learned so far this school year. We are blessed by our long-standing partnership with the University of Texas Charter School System and by the teachers and staff who offer creative and memorable experiences inside and outside of the classroom.
