MCH to host internationally acclaimed program
[UPDATE — March 16, 2020: Due to concerns related to COVID-19, this training has been postponed. Further information will be available soon.]
Methodist Children’s Home will host a Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) facilitator course March 31-April 3, 2020, at the Texas Ranger Museum Knox Center in Waco, Texas. Circle of Security is an early intervention program for parents and children backed by decades of evidence-based, attachment research.
According to Traci Wagner, vice president for MCH Family Outreach, the COSP training is ideal for social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, family support workers, and anyone providing parenting education and/or counseling to parents of young children.
“MCH has implemented Circle of Security as an outstanding practicum for showing how parent/child relationships can be strengthened,” Wagner said. “We are fortunate to have this internationally recognized and accepted training come to Waco. This will be a great opportunity for nonprofits and educators in Waco and Central Texas to strengthen their own programs and practice through this training that is also being conducted in a dozen countries and numerous states in 2020.”
