Benefactor Relations Officer
Methodist Children's Home is seeking applicants for the position of Benefactor Relations Officer. This position reports to the Director of Benefactor Relations and will serve the Southeast Texas region. Although primarily a remote position, the person in this role will be required to travel regularly to initiate, build, and maintain relationships with benefactors, foundations and churches in key fundraising areas. Responsibilities include meeting established fundraising goals and objectives through personal solicitations, speaking events intended to generate contributions, cultivation of relationships with MCH benefactors and other best-practice fundraising methods. Effective interpersonal and presentation abilities are necessary. Strong time and territory management skills are required, with detailed follow up and mandatory reporting. A healthy value system must be maintained, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. The Benefactor Relations Officer is considered a professional position and may require more than the normal 40-hour work week. The work schedule will vary and will include some nights and weekends as well as travel. This staff member must perform in a professional manner, keeping the interest of benefactors in mind, as well as that of Methodist Children's Home. Recreation Assistant
The Recreation Assistant will work year-round with the recreation department to provide intentional recreation programs that build relationships with youth and offer them a chance to grow through introspection and playful interaction. The Recreation Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervision of youth, teaching life skills, problem management, planning and implementing weekly recreation activities, campus wide events, summer programs, after school programs, and holiday/break activities. The Recreation Assistant must be lifeguard certified. The Recreation Assistant will work around 25 hours a week. Hours will include evenings and weekends. Must be 21 or older. Staff Trainer
Methodist Children's Home is seeking applications for a Staff Trainer. This staff member will join four other Staff Trainers who provide weekly classes to promote the professional development of employees and meet licensing and accreditation requirements. Responsibilities include leading quality training classes, maintaining accurate and timely reports and records, and assisting in the development of a comprehensive, agency-wide training program. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, education, child development or related field is required. Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following:  SAMA, Red Cross and First Aid certification; knowledge and a commitment to Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI); experience in residential child care or other child, youth or family services; public speaking skills and the ability to effectively lead small and large groups; strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access); and a basic knowledge and understanding of state licensing and national accreditation standards for child care agencies. This full time position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. Clinical Therapist
The Clinical Therapist provides therapeutic services such as individual, group and family work along with crisis management to youth in care. The Clinical Therapist is a member of an interdisciplinary team which includes UT-UCS Charter School staff, unit managers, MCH direct care staff and administrative staff and will also serve as a liaison for the UT-UCS Charter School staff and crisis management team at the school. This position requires a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques developed by the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. The Clinical Therapist must possess strong organizational and leadership skills and exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. The Clinical Therapist will also be part of the primary on-call rotation to handle student crisis management after hours and will be supervised by the Director of Psychological Services. A master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or a related human services field is required along with licensure as an LPC or LMSW with three years of counseling experience. Full-time home parents are under the supervision of the Unit Manager and Campus Administrator. Home parents are responsible for the daily supervision of youth in the home unit. Additionally, home parents are responsible for teaching daily living skills, problem management, building team relationships, home unit management, and having an up-to-date awareness of Methodist Children’s Home policies and procedures. Youth Care Counselor
The Youth Care Counselor cares for and supervises youth in the group home. The YCC must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to relate to and care for youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires respect for and compassionate understanding for the youth in care and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure in the work with youth. The YCC must have the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships with youth and co-workers, effectively communicate with others, solve problems and regulate their own behavior in all situations. The YCC must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. The YCC works various schedules based upon the needs of the group home and their primary responsibilities may vary according to the day and time of the scheduled shift. The YCC's schedule will be determined by the employee's supervisor. The YCC must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Equine Coordinator
The Equine Coordinator is responsible for directing and leading all aspects of the equine program offered at MCH Boys Ranch. This position works under the supervision of the Director of Ranching and supports the vocational agriculture program offered at the charter school operated on the MCH Waco campus and MCH Boys Ranch. The Equine Coordinator is responsible for the care of the horses, facilities and equipment assigned to the equine program. The Equine Coordinator teaches horsemanship classes and supervises all horseback riding activities. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Director of Family Outreach - Dallas
This full time position will manage and oversee operations of the Family Outreach office, including foster family recruitment, training, verification, and support; work toward family reunification with parents of children in foster care; provision of evidence-informed family preservation services, supportive services to grandparents, and parent education; and development and support of community presence for program promotion. Must maintain high level of compliance with MCH policy and procedures, accreditation standards, and TDFPS minimum standards. The Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of administrative and clerical activities to support the efficient operation of the programs offered by Methodist Children's Home. This position requires knowledge of administrative and clerical systems as well as word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software. This position involves frequent contact with consumers, agency employees, other agencies, vendors and visitors, and it requires interacting with others in a professional and courteous manner. This position supports the Program Administrator and the program staff at their location. The Administrative Assistant must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. This position occassionally requires more than the normal 40-hour work week with some work after business hours and weekends. An automobile for in town travel is required. The Administrative Secretary is an hourly position with a normal work week of 40 hours. MCH Family Outreach is seeking applications for a new full-time case manager position. Responsibilities will include providing in-home case management services to families.
