Athletic Assistant

Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer is supervised by the Director of Public Relations and works closely with other staff members in the Development Department. The primary responsibility of the public relations staff is to communicate the mission of Methodist Children’s Home. The Graphic Designer will present the MCH story in a way that is clear to understand and helps foster increased support for this ministry. This individual must demonstrate creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, in addition to being self-motivated and goal-oriented. Design experience with magazines, brochures, web graphics, material for special events, and other creative projects is preferred. Employee Recruiter
The Employee Recruiter is a member of the Human Resources Department and reports to the Employee Compliance Manager. The primary areas of responsibility include managing the comprehensive employee recruiting and application process, managing and updating personnel records, coordinating the Educational Assistance Program, and providing overall support for the department. Resident Advisor
The Resident Advisor monitors the Independent Living Apartments and ensures the residents follow program guidelines. The Resident Advisor provides encouragement and guidance to the residents to promote a safe and positive community of young adults. The Resident Advisor must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with residents who have social challenges and need assistance in preparation for transitioning to independence due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires the respect and compassionate understanding for the residents and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure and effectively model and teach independent living skills. The Resident Advisor must have the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships with the residents and co-workers, effectively communicate with others, solve problems and regulate their own behavior in all situations. The Resident Advisor must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. This is a 24 hour per day live-in position with a living space provided in the apartment complex. The typical schedule is seven days on and seven days off with no paid holidays as holidays are incorporated into the regular schedule. Youth Care Counselor Supervisor
The Youth Care Counselor Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and management of the child care staff assigned to the group home. The YCC Supervisor must possess strong organizational and leadership skills and exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires respect and compassionate understanding for youth in care and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure in the work with youth. The YCC Supervisor must have the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships with youth and co-workers, effectively communicate with others, solve problems and regulate their own behavior in all situations. The YCC Supervisor must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. This position primarily works the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift, but must be able to work a variety of shifts to ensure sufficient oversight of YCCs. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of one year experience in a residential child care program. An undergraduate degree is preferred. Director of Athletics
The Director of Athletics is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the athletic programs offered through the charter school on the Waco campus. The Director of Athletics is responsible for executing an athletic program that is consistent with the MCH model of care and provides opportunities for student-athletes to learn athletic skills needed to compete in sports offered by MCH as well as life skills that are needed for success in the classroom and in life after graduation. This position involves frequent contact with MCH residents not involved in athletics, direct care staff, teachers, administrative staff, schools, vendors, donors, visitors and other stakeholders. This position requires a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques developed by the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. Home Services Specialist
The Home Services Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the food services program in the assigned group home. This includes menu planning as well as the purchase and preparation of meals, snacks and food for special occasions. This position is also responsible for the purchase of personal care items and other supplies needed in the group home. The Home Services Specialist works closely with the Unit Manager and direct care staff to ensure that the group home operates efficiently and the needs of residents are met. The Home Services Specialist must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to relate to and care for youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. The Home Services Specialist must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Certification as a food handler is required. Experience in food preparation is preferred. Youth Care Counselor II
This full time position (female) will be responsible for the supervision of youth in a residential living unit. Must attend to unit duties regarding care and maintenance of the unit. After-School Instructor: Vocal Music Instructor
This position is available August 2015- May 2016. The Vocal Music Instructor will train students in both group and solo singing.  They will create lesson plans, teach vocal music theory and techniques, prepare students for performances, and manage/evaluate choral students’ musical development. They will coordinate and direct performances, competitions and outings. Equally important will be the development of the student’s discipline and maturity throughout the teaching process.  This will include supervision, teaching life skills, and building healthy relationships with the students. The Vocal Instructor will work approximately 10-15 hours a week. Formal classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45pm-5:45pm with additional practice times (set by instructor) and occasional weekends for performances and group outings. BOYS RANCH JOB OPENINGS

Director of Outdoor Education
The Director of Outdoor Education is responsible for the directing and leading all aspects of the recreational program at the MCH Boys Ranch. This position is responsible for designing and executing a recreational program that engages youth in a variety of outdoor activities and experiential learning opportunities to teach youth specific skills, an appreciation of the outdoors, respect for the environment and responsible use of natural resources. The Director of Outdoor Education must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires respect and compassionate understanding for the youth in care and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure in the work with youth. This is a professional position that may require more hours than the normal 40-hour work week. Responsiblities often require work after normal office hours, during the weekend and on holidays. This position also requires the employee to provide on-call coverage after hours, on weekends and during holidays on a rotation with other staff. Out of town travel and occasional overnight travel are required. A Bachelor's degree in outdoor education, outdoor recreation or related field is required. Experience working with youth in an outdoor education program is preferred. The Director of Outdoor Education must be certified as a lifeguard or obtain this certification within the time period negotiated at the time of hire. The Director of Outdoor Education must obtain certification in the use of the Alpine Tower and the Ropes Course within six months of the hire date. Associate Administrator
The Associate Administrator reports to the Ranch Administrator and is responsible for all aspects of the residential child care program within assigned area. The Associate Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the MCH model of care is effectively implemented; and services are provided in a cost efficient manner and in compliance with agency policies/procedures and standards established by applicable licensing and accrediting bodies. This position requires a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques developed by the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. The Associate Administrator is responsible for hiring, supervising, directing and evaluating staff; monitoring program effectiveness; and the management and oversight of the operational budget for the assigned area. Must have or be eligible to obtain Child Care Administrator License in Texas. Child Care Administrator License must be obtained within six months of accepting position. MCH Family Outreach is seeking applications for a new full-time case manager position. Responsibilities will include providing in-home case management services to families. This full time position manages and oversees operations of the Family Outreach office including recruitment and training; working with parents of children in care toward family reunification; provision of evidence-informed family preservation services; provision of supportive services to grandparents; and development of community presence for program promotion.
