After School Coordinator
The After School Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of an after-school educational and recreational program that offers age-appropriate activities for youth in care. The program includes, but is not limited to, theatre, choir, drum line, cheer, independent living, horsemanship and physical education. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the After-School Program is operated safely and in compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. The After-School Program Coordinator is considered a professional position and may require more than the normal 40-hour work week. The work schedule will vary and may include some nights and weekends. The After-School Program Coordinator must be able to instruct and participate in recreation activities with students. Most duties are performed on the Waco campus, but out of town travel and occasional overnight trips are required. The After-School Program Coordinator must be able to drive a van and school bus for transportation duties. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. A degree in recreation, music, performing arts or related field is preferred. The After-School Program Coordinator must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Texas driver's license, an excellent driving record that meets the standards set forth by the liability insurance company and Methodist Children's Home, no criminal history and acceptable references. Home Services Specialist

The Home Services Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the food services program in the assigned group home. This includes menu planning as well as the purchase and preparation of meals, snacks and food for special occasions. This position is also responsible for the purchase of personal care items and other supplies needed in the group home. The Home Services Specialist works closely with the Unit Manager and direct care staff to ensure that the group home operates efficiently and the needs of residents are met. The Home Services Specialist must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to relate to and care for youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. The Home Services Specialist must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Certification as a food handler is required. Experience in food preparation is preferred. Lead Youth Care Counselor
The Lead Youth Care Counselor cares for and supervises youth in care and assumes additional responsibilities for mentoring and leading the Youth Care Counselors assigned to the group home. The Lead YCC must possess strong organizational and leadership skills and exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity required to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. This position requires respect and compassionate understanding for the youth in care and the ability to balance the need for nurture and structure in the work with youth. The Lead YCC must have the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships with youth and co-workers, effectively communicate with others, solve problems and regulate their own behavior in all situations. The Lead YCC must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. This is a professional position and may require more hours than the normal forty hour work week. This position requires work after normal office hours, during the weekends and on holidays. The Lead YCC primarily works the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift, but must be able to work a variety of shifts to ensure sufficient oversight of YCCs. The Lead YCC must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of one year experience in a residential child care program. Instructional Coach
This position requires content and instructional expertise in reading, writing and/or math. Must have expertise in working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors and have difficulty in the school environment. This position serves as a member of the school leadership team and works with both teachers and facility support staff to implement the MCH model of care and create an effective learning environment. The Instructional Coach focuses on enhancing teacher skills in classroom management and instruction. The Instructional Coach also promotes the implementation of best practices through demonstration lessons, observation of teachers, reflective sessions following observations and the delivery of processional development activities. Must have a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) principles and techniques. A master's degree in education or related field is required. Teacher Certification in the State of Texas and five years of experience as a classroom teacher is required. Experience working with children and youth in out of home settings is preferred. Clinical Therapist
The Clinical Therapist provides therapeutic services such as individual, group and family work along with crisis management to youth in care. The Clinical Therapist is a member of an interdisciplinary team which includes UT-UCS Charter School staff, unit managers, MCH direct care staff and administrative staff and will also serve as a liaison for the UT-UCS Charter School staff and crisis management team at the school. This position requires a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques developed by the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. The Clinical Therapist must possess strong organizational and leadership skills and exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity to work with youth who have behavioral issues and difficulty relating to others due to developmental delays, mental health needs and trauma. The Clinical Therapist will also be part of the primary on-call rotation to handle student crisis management after hours and will be supervised by the Director of Psychological Services. A master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or a related human services field is required along with licensure as an LPC or LMSW with three years of counseling experience. Must have a valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and criminal history background investigation that meet the standards and requirements of MCH, TDFPS, and our liability insurance directives. Unit Manager
A full time position for Unit Manager is available. A bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required, master's preferred. Duties will include case management, group work, staff supervision and team leadership. Experience working with adolescents, as well as supervisory experience is preferred. Administrative Secretary
Under the supervision of the Property Administrator and oversees the daily operation of the Plant Office insuring all work order requests and telephone requests are properly documented and distributed to the various departments in addition to storing various Plant dialogue into computer programs. The Administrative Secretary works with the Property Administrator in managing vehicle fleet preventive maintenance program and scheduling. This position should be able to gain and maintain good general knowledge of the crafts and jobs performed by all Plant personnel and maintain a healthy working relationship with the Property Administrator and Grounds Supervisor to insure all job related tasks are accomplished promptly and done accordingly. Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer is supervised by the Director of Public Relations and works closely with other staff members in the Development Department. The primary responsibility of the public relations staff is to communicate the mission of Methodist Children’s Home. The Graphic Designer will present the MCH story in a way that is clear to understand and helps foster increased support for this ministry. This individual must demonstrate creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, in addition to being self-motivated and goal-oriented. Design experience with magazines, brochures, web graphics, material for special events, and other creative projects is preferred. After-School Instructor: Vocal Music Instructor
This position is available August 2015- May 2016. The Vocal Music Instructor will train students in both group and solo singing.  They will create lesson plans, teach vocal music theory and techniques, prepare students for performances, and manage/evaluate choral students’ musical development. They will coordinate and direct performances, competitions and outings. Equally important will be the development of the student’s discipline and maturity throughout the teaching process.  This will include supervision, teaching life skills, and building healthy relationships with the students. The Vocal Instructor will work approximately 10-15 hours a week. Formal classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45pm-5:45pm with additional practice times (set by instructor) and occasional weekends for performances and group outings. The Vocal Music Instructor will receive compensation on a monthly basis according to experience and availability. They must be 21 years of age or older. MCH Family Outreach is seeking applications for a new full-time case manager position. Responsibilities will include providing in-home case management services to families. Must maintain a high level of compliance with MCH policy and procedures, and accreditation standards.
