Transition Services Coordinator
The Transition Services Coordinator provides direct services to Methodist Children's Home residents and foster children graduating from high school and transitioning to independence. This postion is responsible for working with program participants in developing and implementing a plan to make the successful transition from MCH care to adult living. The Transition Services Coordinator must have the ability to form and maintain effective relationships with program participants and their families and other supportive adults. This position also requires the use of personal contact as well as written and electronic methods of communication to maintain connection with program participants. The Transition Services Coordinator must exhibit the intellectual and emotional maturity to work with young adults whose behaviors and actions are often influenced by previous abuse/neglect, trauma, separation of significant others, developmental and maturity delays, social deficits or mental illness. The Transition Services Coordinator must maintain a healthy value system, including moral and ethical behavior consistent with the agency's mission and core values. This position will require some travel. A Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required but a Master's degree in social work or related field is preferred. Staff Trainer
Methodist Children's Home is seeking applications for a Staff Trainer. This staff member will join four other Staff Trainers who provide weekly classes to promote the professional development of employees and meet licensing and accreditation requirements. Responsibilities include leading quality training classes, maintaining accurate and timely reports and records, and assisting in the development of a comprehensive, agency-wide training program. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, education, child development or related field is required. Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following: SAMA, Red Cross and First Aid certification; knowledge and a commitment to Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI); experience in residential child care or other child, youth or family services; public speaking skills and the ability to effectively lead small and large groups; strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access); and a basic knowledge and understanding of state licensing and national accreditation standards for child care agencies. This full-time position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. The Staff Trainer will be required to successfully complete a weeklong TBRI training program at Texas Christian University that will qualify the trainer to teach TBRI to MCH employees. Apply online.

After-School Instructor: Vocal Music Instructor
This position is available August 2015- May 2016. The Vocal Music Instructor will train students in both group and solo singing.  They will create lesson plans, teach vocal music theory and techniques, prepare students for performances, and manage/evaluate choral students’ musical development. They will coordinate and direct performances, competitions and outings. Equally important will be the development of the student’s discipline and maturity throughout the teaching process.  This will include supervision, teaching life skills, and building healthy relationships with the students. The Vocal Instructor will work approximately 10-15 hours a week. Formal classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45pm-5:45pm with additional practice times (set by instructor) and occasional weekends for performances and group outings. The Vocal Music Instructor will receive compensation on a monthly basis according to experience and availability. They must be 21 years of age or older. Associate Administrator
The Associate Administrator reports to the Ranch Administrator and is responsible for all aspects of the residential child care program within assigned area. The Associate Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the MCH model of care is effectively implemented; and services are provided in a cost efficient manner and in compliance with agency policies/procedures and standards established by applicable licensing and accrediting bodies. This position requires a thorough understanding of and demonstrated competency in the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques developed by the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. The Associate Administrator is responsible for hiring, supervising, directing and evaluating staff; monitoring program effectiveness; and the management and oversight of the operational budget for the assigned area. Must have or be eligible to obtain Child Care Administrator License in Texas. Child Care Administrator License must be obtained within six months of accepting position. Director of Family Outreach - Lufkin
This full time position manages and oversees operations of the Family Outreach office including recruitment and training; working with parents of children in care toward family reunification; provision of evidence-informed family preservation services; provision of supportive services to grandparents; and development of community presence for program promotion. Must maintain a high level of compliance with MCH policy and procedures, accreditation standards, and TDFPS minimum standards. Case Manager - El Paso
MCH Family Outreach is seeking applications for a new full-time Case Manager position. Responsibilities will include provision of in-home services to families, community education, recruitment, training, licensing and case management of foster homes. Must maintain a high level of compliance with MCH policy and procedures, accreditation standards, and applicable TDFPS Licensing Standards. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be available for on-call rotation, possess a valid driver's license and clean criminal history.
