Q & A with Taylor, MCH charter school 2013 valedictorian

Taylor valedictorian 2013

Taylor is valedictorian of the 2013 senior class at the University of Texas-University Charter School on the Waco campus. As she prepares for graduation on Thursday, we talked with Taylor about the honor and her plans for the future.

Q: How does it feel to be graduating?
A: It feels amazing! I feel successful because just a few years ago I could not even see myself graduating. While being at MCH my perception has changed. Coach Lindsay has helped me see that I needed to work harder and that I was capable of doing a lot of things, like sports and academics.

Q: What does it mean to you to be valedictorian?
A: It is an honor knowing my hard work has paid off and I am very proud of myself.

Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: My ultimate goal is to be able to do something in fashion design. I have a passion for creating styles and putting things together. I create my own looks all the time. I plan to attend McLennan Community College and then transfer to the University of North Texas.
