Changing of the Guard

Gary FreemanMethodist Children’s Home has had a “changing of the guard.” We want to wish Bobby Luedke well as he recently retired as director of security after 35 years of dedicated service to MCH.

Gary Freeman has been a security officer for MCH for 13 years and has taken the reins as our new director of security.

“Gary has shown an interest in serving our youth and an understanding of the MCH culture during his time as a security officer,” stated Don Scott, Freeman’s supervisor. “His interest in the overall program and how he could best serve were the keys to his promotion.”

Freeman served with the Waco Police Department for 28 years. He and his wife, Cindy, have been married 28 years and have four children.

“What I like about working here are the people,” Freeman said. “The security department includes eight Waco PD officers who help maintain security for both staff and residents. We are always available to assist staff with the youth’s best interest in mind and I have found that because of the relationships the MCH staff have with our youth we get very few calls. I really can see how our staff help youth and are making a difference.”
