Q&A about Life Outdoors Ministries

Life Outdoors Ministries

The Methodist Children’s Home Boys Ranch hosted Life Outdoors Ministries this past weekend. The purpose of Life Outdoors Ministries is to bring sportsmen to Jesus using the skills, knowledge and resources God has so generously given to us.

Nicole Ehler, director of program services at the Boys Ranch, helped plan the event. We caught up with Nicole to learn more.

Q: What is involved in an event like this?
A: This is an amazing day where our youth are given the opportunity to shoot shotguns, rifles and bows. The purpose is for our youth to have new experiences, try new activities and compete for the trophy of Best Home Unit based on points for the number of targets hit. Through this event, the Life Outdoors Ministries volunteers are able to use the outdoors and all the activities to help our youth build a relationship with God and recognize their abilities and skills.

Q: How does this experience impact our youth?
A: Through this experience, the youth learn a little more about themselves. They gain confidence while having fun. They are always so appreciative of the Life Outdoors Ministries volunteers and look forward to this event each year.
