Methodist Children’s Home welcomed Julie Mitchell to our accounting department in June of this year. She joined our team as the Vice President of Finance.

Julie is a graduate of Texas A&M and a Certified Public Accountant. She was a managing partner in benefits administration and a controller at Pattillo, Brown & Hill. Julie is well respected in her field and brings a wealth of knowledge to MCH.

We caught up with Julie to see how her new job was going.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about your new job?
A: I have enjoyed working with the people here.

Q: What led you to want to be a part of the MCH ministry?
A: In my former position, I helped MCH set up employee benefit packages. During that time, I had the opportunity to talk with many MCH employees and I saw the passion they had for the ministry. In hearing their stories, I discovered I wanted a job with a greater purpose.

Q: What is your hope for the Home’s future?
A: My hope is for the Home to be able to continue to expand its programs and assistance to children, youth and families throughout Texas and New Mexico. I hope we can all work together to increase this ability of the Home with continued creativity and open communication.
