Chance, a recent graduate of Methodist Children’s Home, has signed a letter-of-intent to play basketball at Temple College next year. Chance helped lead the MCH Bulldogs to the state championship game in the Texas Christian Athletic League (TCAL). He was selected TCAL player of the year and was named to the Waco Tribune-Herald Super Centex first –team.

We caught up with Chance to learn more.

Q: What has the experience at MCH and being on the MCH bulldog basketball team meant to you?
A: Being at MCH has helped me a lot, not just being able to play basketball but they helped me prepare for life. I want to thank my teammates at MCH, Coach Henry and my dad for helping me become a better player. I also want to thank my uncle for his support. I can remember four years ago when I first started playing basketball for Coach Henry, I did not know anything. Over time I grew as a basketball player and a person.

Q: What does it mean to you to receive a scholarship to play at Temple College?
A: I am excited about the opportunity to play for a college who leads the nation in points per game. I plan on playing hard for Coach Johnson. I am also excited about being close to my family and in a college atmosphere.
